As a BIP Ventures Analyst, Sumin Oh performs detailed research and analysis on potential investment opportunities. She is a creative, design-thinking professional with early-stage startup experience.
Before joining BIP Ventures in 2022, Sumin was a Product Manager at Lightscale. Prior to that role, she was a Product Designer at Umbra, where she designed houseware for brands including Amazon Basics, Bed, Bath, and Beyond, JCPenney, and other big box stores. Sumin's early startup experience was at Flare Software. As a Visual Designer for Flare, she collaborated with students across Ontario to build a social networking app focused on real-time local events.
Sumin earned an M.S. from an interdisciplinary program in technology management, economics, and policy at the College of Engineering at Seoul National University. She holds a B.S. in Industrial Design from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Outside of work, Sumin enjoys playing the piano and learning how to play the organ, and she hopes to get back into playing the clarinet.
